Well, It is still in testing and may not make it to episode0.4, but there is a review section that will be coming to progbox and I figured as the first one, I will be reviewing Ubuntu "Hardy Heron". Post here and either the most wanted will be reviewed and/or one that I pick will be reviewed. I CANT WAIT!!!

Different sections, different distros
I think you should start by dividing the distros into different sections - Server-based, Desktop-oriented, "Power" distros, "other"
Some interesting ones that might be worth covering:
- Linux Mint
- Fedora
- CentOS
- Smoothwall
- Freespire
- OpenSuSE
- Mandriva
- Arch
- Mepis
- Slackware
- Gentoo
That should keep you going for the next couple of years ;)
This is really good... BUT...
You make a very true point about putting them in different categories. I will say because I do not have the time nor technical resources, I most probably will not be doing any server-based distros. The main reason why is because I want to play and tinker with it, have fun with it, and in the long run, give my opinion on it and why I feel it's good or bad in your favor. The thing is with the server distros, there could be some content there, and I am not totally ruling it out, but I feel I would be looking more at the features list on the website for X distro and reading off of that rather than giving my quick opinion on it. Now if there was a stand-alone show just about distro reviews, that would be cool.
However your point is very good on categorizing the distro at hand, I will give the category in the beginning of the skit which should balance that out.
Oh btw, where's PCOSLinux on that list eh? lol j/k. That is one of my more favorable distros though. The points factor is what I am picking my brain about at this time. I want to have a definitive point system that can hold up over time. I am thinking here are the categories for that:
*Look at bottom of this for computer specs*
CD boot from fast system (up to 10 points)*
CD boot from lower and cheaper system (up to 10 points)**
CD boot from slow laptop (up to 10 points)***
The average of these will combine for a definitive 10 point system. (with decimals also)
Visual appeal (up to 10 points)
Ease of use (up to 10 points)
Pre-Installed software (up to 10 points)
Size of community support (up to 10 points)
for a maximum *perfect* distro rating of 50 points divided by 10 to get a 5 to 0 point system.
Computer specs:
*AMD Athlon X2 5600 2 Gigs of ram and 52x dvd burner.
**Celeron 2.0 ghz single core w/256mb of ram.
***Dell Inspiron laptop celeron single core 700mhz 128mb of ram.
I wish I could do full installs but I just do not have the equipment. Also I would love to check out some distros running on things such as the ps3, and i'll definitely review Wii linux if/when it comes through.
So what do you think?
oops...
YES! what I meant by "either the most wanted will be reviewed and/or one that I pick will be reviewed" was if there IS a distro that gets more than two votes, that will be the one that is reviewed, or if it is a tie, I will break the tie, but if there is multiple ties of one for example, I will just pick one from the list :D
