List of apps used in video production would be awesome

Like everybody else, I love "list" posts.

If you did a post (or just answered here in forum... or both!) about how and what you used to edit your show, what was hard, what was easy, that'd be great.

I think there are many of us who use Linux, but for certain design/art tasks, jump to another OS/web app for a second.
